ENCAPSULATION - Trapping Printed Paper on Front, Back and Spine

Encapsulation is the sealing of printed sheets onto the outside of a binder under a layer of clear PVC. This method of production enables the full flexibility of litho printing onto paper to be used cost effectively in a PVC binder. It also allows other materials like fabrics to be displayed and protected under a wipe clean clear surface.

Encapsulation can be:

On the front cover only	On the front and spine	On the front, back and spine

When planning artwork for encapsulated sheets, remember to avoid rivets hitting critical parts of the print (addresses etc). Also remember that the sheets are much bigger than A4or A5; they have to cover the whole surface of the binder. Remember the sizes of encapsulated sheets are larger than those for inclusion in clear overlay binders.

The ideal weight paper used for encapsulation is 150gsm. Paper must be coated or will be subject to an additional cost. We cannot encapsulate photocopier paper.
