CLEAR OVERLAYS

Clear overlays, open to the head, enable printed matter, photographs or drawings to be inserted into the face of a binder creating individual or interchangeable customised binders. This method also allows the binder to be unpdated or re-used for a different purpose. The clear material is wipe clean and helps protect the PVC from dirt and marking. Clear overlays can be on the front, front and spine or front, back and spine.

Rounds rings cannot be used with spine overlays, the rivets seal the pocket. Full width inserts cannot be used in the back cover of a binder with D rings because the rivets restrict the width. Encapsulation overcomes this problem.

Because inserts for overlays have to be easy to put in and take out, the recommended sizes above are slightly smaller than encapsulated sheet sizes.

Recommended minimum weight of paper for insertion is 150gsm: Thinner papers may need to be slightly smaller to help insertion, especially in the spine.
